Roll of Honour Database Search

The Lord Mayor's Office has transcribed the list of names on the 1st World War Memorial situated in the Hall of Remembrance at Liverpool Town Hall.  A database has been created which can be used to search for names on this - the First World War Memorial Roll of Honour of Liverpool's Military War Dead.  This was opened by the Duke of Windsor, then Prince of Wales in 1921 and lists over 13,000 names.  For more information visit the Hall of Remembrance page and to access the search visit the database page.

Liverpool Town Hall and St George's Hall Environmental Policy 2012-2013

Our aim
To improve the environment in by managing the City Halls operations and its environmental impact, and identifying and implementing an Environmental Management System to manage those impacts that are most significant.

Our staff
We will provide appropriate environmental training where possible and applicable for employees at the City Halls. We will also consult our staff as widely as possible on new environmental activities and encourage their active involvement wherever we can.

Contractors and suppliers
We will work with our contractors and suppliers to improve environmental performance and ensure that, when working for or supplying City Halls with goods, equipment and systems; they adopt and promote equivalent environmental standards and carry out those works with consideration of environmental impacts.

Environmental Information
We will encourage the people of Liverpool to protect the environment by providing appropriate information and advice about the activities and performance of the Environmental Management systems at Liverpool City Halls.

Working together
We will work with suppliers, contractors and partners to raise environmental awareness and encourage action aimed at improving the quality of our local environment
We will implement this policy by retaining ISO14001:2004 certification, therefore:

Assessing, in advance, the environmental impact of changes to our activities and the products and services we buy

Reviewing our environmental impacts as an organisation and by setting up systems to monitor this impact regularly

Establishing procedures to monitor our compliance with this policy and developing procedures to tackle any non-compliance with our environmental policy, objectives and targets

Committing to continual improvement and prevention of pollution

Compliance with legal and other related requirements
