Liverpool Town Hall
Holocaust Memorial Day 2008
In January 2008, Liverpool had the privilege of hosting the 2008 National Holocaust Memorial Day Programme and Main Commemorative Event. The programme of events took place in numerous venues between 14 and 31 January 2008 and was a great success. Visit www.liverpool.gov.uk/holocaust08 to find out more. You can still leave a message on the 'electronic wall of commitment'. Further details about Holocaust Memorial are also available on the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust website (www.hmd.org.uk/).
RESPECTacles
Part of the Holocaust Memorial Day Programme of Events, the RESPECTacles exhibition is a unique artistic exhibition comprising unwanted spectacles and inspired by images from the Holocaust aimed at genocide prevention. First shown in Liverpool Town Hall in January, it is being re-shown from May to August 2008 in the World Museum (part of National Museums Liverpool) on William Brown Street.
Our aim is to show how you can make a better future by simply having RESPECT for other human beings and their differences.
Please give us your unwanted spectacles
If you would like to donate your old spectacles or donate a pair in honour of somebody, please forward them to Jean Evans, Liverpool Town Hall, High Street, Liverpool, L2 3SW, England, UK.
